Carlyle Street Safety Improvements

Carlyle Street is one of the most important routes leading to and from the Napier CBD, and we want to know if you think it is time we made changes to it – to make it better for you and anyone else who travels on it.

Carlyle Street is one of the most important routes leading to and from the Napier CBD, and we want to know if you think it is time we made changes to it – to make it better for you and anyone else who travels on it.

This programme of work has come about from an initial investigation of crash statistics, cycling and walking patterns and road layout carried out by Council in 2018. Carlyle Street carries over 10,000 vehicles per day and has been identified as being narrow and having ill-defined cycle paths. There have been 63 reported crashes on Carlyle Street in the last 10 years.

Please take the time to fill in this short survey. The feedback gathered will inform future improvements to Carlyle Street.
