Napier City Council, Napier Girls’ High School, Sacred Heart College, and Napier Central School are working together to improve student safety when travelling to school on Napier Hill and to encourage more students to walk, scooter and cycle.
Council wants to improve three busy intersections on the Hill to keep children safe:
The idea is to make modifications such as wider footpaths (using temporary kerbs and artwork), improved sightlines, reduced crossing distances, lower vehicle speeds, and reduced pedestrian exposure to moving traffic.
We’d like to hear your feedback both before and after the modifications are made. Take a look at the three designs and give us your thoughts.
