Water Supply Bylaw 2022

Providing clean drinking water is a top priority at Napier City Council. The Water Supply Bylaw provides for the protection of our drinking water network and supports access to clean water across the city. The previous bylaw is due for review but we think the high level framework it creates is still working effectively. The review of this bylaw takes the opportunity to update our guidance to reflect to changes in legislation and operational practices.

We are proposing to create a new bylaw on similar terms to the previous one. The proposed bylaw has been updated to reflect changes in legislation and standards and incorporates changes to our operational practices since 2012 such as the use of a dedicated water take for tankers.

Closing date for submissions is 5pm, 25 May 2022.

Sorry, this consultation is now closed and we are no longer accepting submissions. All feedback will be considered when this bylaw is deliberated on at the Water Supply Council Hearings scheduled for 22 and 23 June 2022.
